Afghanistan

With approximately 37.5 million people, more than half of whom live below the poverty line, Afghanistan ranks amongst the most malnourished regions internationally. More than 18 million are acutely food-insecure and 6 million are teetering on the brink of famine.

Bangladesh

In Bangladesh 40% of the country falls under three categories: hunger, starvation and chronic hunger. Out of the 50 million people who lack food security in Bangladesh, less than half have access to food safety net programs. Poor coverage, targeting, and administration have impacted the effectiveness of food programs.

Bosnia

Nearly 640,000 people live in poverty in Bosnia, and approximately 50 percent of the country is vulnerable to becoming poor.

Ethiopia

As many as 9.4 million people in Ethiopia are in need of urgent food assistance as the conflict in the East African country continues to escalate.

India

India is home to the second most populous country in the world but yet it holds one quarter of all undernourished people in the world. Over 20% of the population lives on less than $1.90 a day.

Pakistan

More than 4.2 million in Pakistan have been affected by the deadly floods and at least 1200 people have lost their lives.

Palestine

Today, only 10% of Gazans have access to safe drinking water. Muslim Aid USA is working on the ground to provide safe and sustainable water and sanitation to communities in Gaza in greatest need. Our team is also delivering medical supplies and emergency food packages

Senegal

More than one third of the population lives below the poverty line, and 75 percent of families suffer from chronic poverty

Somalia

The famine has destroyed crops and livestock, and has also increased rates of malnutrition and disease. Tuberculosis infections in the country are now amongst the worst recorded in the world, with millions of lives at risk.

Sri Lanka

Extreme economic crises in Sri Lanka are pushing more than 22 million people beneath the poverty line. Millions more are losing jobs and have little to no health care, and also face food security.

Ugandans living in poverty pay as much as 22 percent of their income to access water from vendors. This reduces overall household income, limiting the ability of families to break the vicious cycle of poverty

The Gambia

The Gambia has an ongoing food crisis due to the unusually light seasonal rainfalls. Farmers in rural areas simply cannot grow enough food to provide for their families and communities, resulting in skyrocketing food prices.

Turkey

There are currently 3.6 million Syrian refugees living in Turkey and 1.2 million of them are children. In addition, Turkey is now a refuge to one of the world’s largest Uyghur refugee populations: nearly 50,000
