Good Ramadan 2025/1446 to everyone. This site is your guide of Ramadan 2025/1446.
Here you can know the official date of the beginning of Ramadan, the hours of prayer and the date of Eid ul Fitr 2025/1446.

So what is Ramadan and how to fast it correctly?

First of all, Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar (which follows the cycles of the moon), it comes between Shaabane and Shawwal.
Fasting Ramadan is one of the five pillars of the Islamic religion with the Shahada, the prayer, Zakat and Hajj.

Rules of fasting:

During Ramadan, Muslims have to avoid eating, drinking and having sex from the dawn until the sunset.
A person begins fasting the holy month of Ramadan when she arrives the age of puberty.
The children, ill people and pregnant women (in case of danger for her or her baby) don’t have to fast.

The holy side of Ramadan:

This month is very important for Muslims all over the world, it’s a unique occasion to purify their souls and bodies and be as near as possible from Allah.
So people make more prayers and a special ones called Tarawih, they also try to be better and give help for the ones in need.
We don’t have to forget that one of the most important aims of Ramadan is to experience the hunger of poor people and humility.

In the History of Islam, this month is also very special because Allah revealed the first Ayat of Quran to his Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) through the angel
Jibril during a night in Ramadan called Laylat Al Qadr (Night of Destiny).
This night, situated in the ten last days of Ramadan, is considered by Allah better than 1000 months because of its sacredness.
So Muslims try to reach the maximum of hassanate during this period by doing prayers, reading Quran and making Duaa to Allah.

End of ramadan and Eid ul Fitr:

After 29 or 30 days of fasting in a very special atmosphere, Ramadan ends and millions of faithful Muslims celebrate it on the first of
Shawwal called Eid ul Fitr which is one of the two holy feasts in the Muslim Calendar.

Ramadan in the Muslim calendar

Ramadan is the holy month of the year in the Muslim calendar, the one when the Muslims stop eating, drinking and getting sex from the dawn until the sunset.
It's also the month when the Muslims pray more hoping getting more benediction and being closer to Allah.

Ramadan is the ninth month in the lunar year. The first day of Ramadan is just after the 29th or the 30th day of Chaaban.

The date of the beginning of Ramadan change every year and it's eleven days before than the year before. This date changes also from one country to another one
(one day difference) because the moon can't be seen in some countries if it's cloudy.

Here is one of my favorite hadith (prophetic narrations) on the tremendous blessings and merits of this sacred month:

The Messenger of Allahﷺ addressed his companions on the last day of Sha`ban, saying, “O People! A great month has come over you; a blessed month; a month in which is a night better than a thousand months; a month in which Allah has made it compulsory upon you to fast by day, and voluntary to pray by night.

Whoever draws nearer (to Allah) by performing any of the (optional) good deeds in (this month) shall receive the same reward as performing an obligatory deed at any other time, and whoever discharges an obligatory deed in (this month) shall receive the reward of performing seventy obligations at any other time. It is the month of patience, and the reward of patience is Heaven. It is the month of charity, and a month in which a believer’s sustenance is increased.

Whoever gives food to a fasting person to break his fast, shall have his sins forgiven, and he will be saved from the Fire of Hell, and he shall have the same reward as the fasting person, without his reward being diminished at all.” [Narrated by Ibn Khuzaymah]

The Islamic calendar 2025 is based on the moon. Also known as the Hijri Calendar 1446, it started after the Hijrah of the Prophet (PBUH) to Madina. The beginning of each month is contingent on the visibility of the moon at the end of the previous month. Once the moon is sighted, the new month commences. Each month starts with a new lunar cycle. Hence, the Muslim Calendar gives only a tentative overview of the upcoming Islamic dates as the start of each month is subject to the sighting of the moon.

The Islamic calendar consists of 12 months similar to the Gregorian calendar. However, it consists of 354-355 days, unlike the 365-366 days in the regular calendar. The Islamic New Year starts off with Muharram followed by Safar, Rabi al-awwal, Rabi al-Thani, Jumada al-awwal, Jumada al-Thani, Rajab, Shaban, Ramadan, Shawwal, Dhul Qadah and Dhul Hijjah.

Waging war during four of these months is forbidden as they are considered sacred.

“The year is of twelve months, out of which four months are sacred: Three are in succession Dhul-Qa’ da, Dhul-Hijjah and Muharram, and (the fourth is) Rajab…” (Bukhari 3197)
